Five convicts, including former director of the Public Security Bureau Mitko Cavkov, who are serving prison sentences in Stip prison, test positive with Covid 19. The prison confirmed that there are infected and three employees, informs Zhurnal.
In total, eight people, five convicts and three employees are infected in Stip prison.
“Currently, in Stip prison there are three positive employees with coronavirus, and five convicted persons. “The five convicts with corona virus are divided into two separate isolated spaces and are separated from other convicts,” said prison director Miki Todorov.
Chavkov is serving his sentence and apparently became infected by one of the employees because he did not take advantage of the weekend break.
Yesterday, 20 prisoners and employees were tested in the prison to find out if the virus is spreading.
Chavkov is serving a 16-year prison sentence in March 2019 for the criminal offense of “terrorist endangerment of the constitutional order and security”, for the attack organized in the Assembly on April 27, 2017. In February this year, the Appeal reduced his sentence from 18 years to 16 years in prison.//Zhurnal.mk
