European Commission President Ursula Von der Leyen had successive talks with the Prime Ministers of Albania and North Macedonia, Edi Rama and Zoran Zaev respectively.
The EC President announced on Twitter the talks she had with the Prime Ministers of the two countries awaiting their first Intergovernmental Conference in December.
In particular, Von der Leyen said she had a constructive as always discussion with her good friend, Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama, on finding the best way forward with the enlargement process and the rapid implementation of the EU economic and investment plan for the Balkans.
On a later Twitter post, she described her discussion with Prime Minister of North Macedonia Zoran Zaev, the first since his re-election, as good. Se went on to say that the EU’s economic and investment plan would accelerate the region’s economic development, while reaffirming the European Commission’s support for the enlargement process in North Macedonia.
