EU Commissioners for Budget and Administration Johannes Hahn, Neighborhood and Enlargement Negotiations, Oliver Varhej and Economy Paolo Ghentolini have praised the meetings with the Minister of Finance, Fatmir Besimi in Brussels, emphasizing that the Republic of Northern Macedonia continues with reforms related to EU membership.
“Good discussion with the Minister of Finance, Fatmir Besimi today. Importantly, Northern Macedonia continues to reflect on EU reforms. “Also, the emphasis was on the economic-investment plan for the Western Balkans – its implementation will be the key to post-Kovid recovery”, wrote EU Commissioner Varhej on Twitter, reports Zhurnal.mk
EU Commissioner Hahn also said on Twitter that he was pleased to meet with Fatmir Besimi, Minister of Finance of Northern Macedonia. “We have had a fruitful discussion on the post-Covid economic recovery and the measures that need to be taken. The EU continues to support the Western Balkan country and states on their path to reform. “The emphasis remains on the rule of law,” Han wrote.
Minister Besimi is on a two-day visit to Brussels, during which he has more meetings with EU Commissioners, the Director of the Directorate for Neighborhood and Enlargement and the World Bank.
