Online poll in Bulgaria – 80 percent support the veto against Macedonia

An online poll by the Bulgarian Fakti news site drew nearly 6,000 voters, 80 percent of whom said that they support the veto against Macedonia. Bulgaria prevented Macedonia from opening EU accession talks and demands additional concessions on issues of national identity and history.

Only 11 percent of those who took the poll said they oppose the veto, while the rest are unsure or don’t care either way. While these polls are scientifically unreliable, they could offer a view into the sentiments in the country.

The veto sparked loud protests in Macedonian social media, some of which reached the Government circles in Sofia which are now demanding action from the Zaev regime
