SDSM categorically rejects the possibility of early parliamentary elections or an interim government to manage the crisis and the dispute with Bulgaria. Zaev’s party says that the opposition with its demands only slows down the process. It does not even accept leaders’ meetings.
“No. The citizens decided on this issue in the last parliamentary elections which were only four months ago. The citizens showed Mickoski the losers the way. We work for a solution in the interest of the citizens, while VMRO-DPMNE slows down the processes and works only to incite new conflicts. “We have already said openly, we do not need conflicts and quarrels, we do not need VMRO-DPMNE and Mickoski to deal with someone”, say from SDSM.
Meanwhile, the opposition has long demanded a meeting of leaders in which an agreement would be reached on an extended government with an interim mandate. The new government, according to the opposition, would be mandated to find a solution to the health and economic crisis with the virus and resolve the dispute with Bulgaria. Hristijan Mickoski’s party says it will use all democratic methods to realize its demands.
