Specialist Prosecutor’s Office raiding houses of Thaci, Veseli, Selimi

The Specialist Prosecutor’s Office (SPO) has confirmed Friday morning that their members are conducting ongoing operations in Kosovo without providing further details.

“The operations of the SPO are being supported by the Kosovo Police and the European Union Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo (EULEX). More information will follow in due course,” the SPO said in a statement.

Gazeta Express reports that currently the SPO investigators support by the EULEX are currently carrying out raids in the houses of former Kosovo president Hashim Thaci, former PDK leader Kadri Veseli, and the house of former Vetevendosje MP, Rexhep Selimi.

The Kosovo Specialist Chambers in a statement said that following their arrests by the Specialist Prosecutor on 4 and 5 November, Hashim Thaci, Kadri Veseli, Rexhep Selimi and Jakup Krasniqi were transferred to the Detention Facilities of the Kosovo Specialist Chambers (KSC) in The Hague on 4 and 5 November. A Pre-Trial Judge of the Kosovo Specialist Chambers has confirmed the indictment against Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Rexhep Selimi and Jakup Krasniqi on 26 October 2020.
