Vaccination of health workers continues in the country with 3,000 vaccines supplied by Russia, as well as revaccination with “Pfizer” received through Serbia. By the end of the month, about 40,000 doses of “Pfizer” and “AstraZeneka” will arrive, which will start the mass immunization of the population.
According to the estimates of the Minister of Health Venko Filipce, the workers working in the centers for covid will be fully vaccinated in the next ten days. 250 to 350 people are vaccinated every day, at the point in the Health Center – Skopje.
“One of the options was to start vaccinating the elderly. However, what happened in the meantime was an increase in the number of patients in need of hospitalization and the recruitment of additional nurses and doctors from other wards to work with these patients. The number of health workers who will now work with sick patients has increased from 4000 and that is why we decided to be in the first group with priority “, said Minister Filipce.
Regarding the Pfizer vaccines, he said that according to the announcement from the communication they have now, there are about 20,000 vaccines that should arrive by the end of March, when between 20,000 and 25,000 vaccines of the AstraZeneka company are expected.
