After the escape of Sasho Mijalkov, accused of mass wiretapping in the “Target-Tvrdina” case, university professor Mersim Maksuti considers that this once again proved that Northern Macedonia has a fragile justice system and that Vetting and judicial reforms are inevitable.
“Mijalkov’s escape represents the next failure of the institutions of the system, of the judiciary and the next test for incompetence in governance in this country. The biggest concern is that all of this could be an orchestrated scenario organized by more parts of the system. “Vetting in the judiciary is already an inevitable process, but only if it is organized under strict international monitoring”, declared for Zhurnal, Mersim Maksuti, university professor.
